or folder? I even rebooted and still could not remain a file. Says it was in use.

"The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program."

Found the simple answer here: https://www.biology-it.iastate.edu/solu ... er-program

Went into Folder Options and checked the box "always show icons never thumbnails"

Not the only reason, but yeah. I have thumbnails disabled mainly because it's a resource hog as well, and needlessly thrashes the drive.

Files can be locked for other reasons though. Especially shared files on a server. I use a file unlocker like this one: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/downlo ... -unlocker/
