I was looking for an MP3-Player for my computer. I used to use napster but now that it's basically gone to hell I'm probably just gonna uninstall it. I figured if it's only good use was to play MP3's (currently anyway), I'd get something a little fancier, something that looked better.

Just curious what your guys recommended? Just looking for something that plays them well, but is simple. I also wanna be able to make playlists. The look of it doesn't matter much, but it would be nice ot have somethin' that looks cool so when friends come over they can be like, "wow! What's that? What does it do?" blah blah :) TIA.

HT,
I kinda like the way Musicmatch Jukebox works out. Even works pretty good for rippin CD's, if it recognizes your CDRW.

sethpa - I tried it and it's pretty sweet. I downloaded a couple skins for it. I like how there is a simple mode to keep it nice and small. I have the music-match thang that my Live! Platinum came with and I use that for rippin' CD's.

Nexus_7 - bah! No MP7 for me...

I'm just in time to shamelessly plug FreeAmp, which creates a handy database out of all your MP3 and Ogg Vorbis files using the ID3/Ogg comments embedded in those files. One can then make custom playlists by dragging songs/albums/artists from the database list and dropping them in the playlist window. FreeAmp also has places for your favorite streams and can save those streams to disk IIRC. I myself recommend v2.1rc6, which is much better than any of the v2.0.x series.

I like WinAmp with the MAD plug in, and DFX rocks! I can't imagine leaving winamp.

madthumb, your right about the DFX plug-in. I have been using it for awhile now. What does the MAD plug-in do?
