Well this has been in the tech news for a while. It's not that they're killing ad blockers per-se, but new security restrictions for add ons make it harder for ad blockers to do as complete a job.

While Google's intent is laudable (better security), those of us who are tech savvy already know that you have to trust a plugin, especially an ad blocker, because by it's nature it sees everything coming in. Heck, you also have to trust Google.

Although they use the same plugin framework, Firefox says they will not be doing this, so if it bothers you, switch to Firefox.

Some of the Chromium browsers are not going to do this either, I understand.
