it includes 2 ata66 cables which is nifty. i have the promise hacked card right now, i needed a card to run on a bh6 with both ide controllers fried, not bad.

dont forget to use MS Exclusives for 10% off (might not work as this is a special sale)

Does anyone have any experience with this card? This seems like a great deal. . .

Would it be worth my time to replace the onboard Highpoint ATA/66 controller on my BE6-II with this card?

The BE6-II uses Highpoints HPT366 chipset. http://www.abit-usa.com/english/product ... /be6r2.htm

Iwill ata66 Raid card uses HighPoint HPT368 Chipset.

Unless your going to be running a raid configuration BlueWeasel I don't see you gaining much by switching.

Iwill group buy?

Any one want to go in on some? Priority would be cheaper than the $6 shipping.

Looks like they're down to $17 now. I'd take one or two if you arranged a group buy.

Mikendi: I would get one if you decided to do a group buy.

Sbp: Is this assumption correct?

For a raid configuration on the controller card I would need for both hard drives to be ATA/66. I could not use a ATA/66 with a old (4 gig) ATA/33 hard drive.

Sure I'm up for it - Succubis are you in? I need to know how many for who. I'll order them on Friday, and mail them out as soon as they get to me. $17 for a retail RAID card isn't half bad. Every one should either email me, or post here.

Someone correct me - I believe the RAID setup will default to ATA/33, and recognize both drives as the smallest. If you have one 8gb and one 6gb it will see two 6gb drives - I think. Maybe 'mplogic' will weigh in on this.

Mikendi - just put me down for one and lmk where to send the funds and how much (paypal ok?).

I believe you're correct. If you are striping the drives (for one big drive) they will work with different ones, but they will all function at the size of the smaller drive. I believe you can run an ATA33 and a 66 individually on the seperate busses each at their full speed (with the Promise cards) but, I don't know what happens when you try to stripe them.

Oh, and make sure you push them for that extra 10%. :) (profit for you) :) They might be more willing if they know you are buying several. Should we post a link to this on the Buy/Sell/Trade forum? I'm sure others that don't check in often would want in on the deal (if you don't mind the extra work). :)
