i noticed on a price list at a local shop they have some 1gHz durons in stock. what is a quick way to tell if it has the morgan core? from what i have read and a couple pics i have seen, the morgans seem to look a lot like the athlon tBirds. but i have never really seen a real-life comparison of the chips, so i am not sure.
will there be a distinct difference in the appearance, or should i look at the coding on the core to find out?
durons with morgan core, how to tell?
thanks, kinda what i thought. i was thrown a bit because at overclockers.com CPU database, they have a listing for "Duron 1G" and "Morgan 1G." looks like the better stepping is AHLCA or AHHAA. i read somewhere it had something to do with the 3rd or 4th letters, the higher, the better. at this shop i am gonna get it from, i should be able to check out the letters on the cores. these are "out of the box" processors.
