LOL

I took the initiative to look on Google, and whatya know... http://www.planetbattlefield.com/featur ... ch131help/

So, for those wondering - to fix the problem with the game instantly kicking you out, do this:
  1. Navigate to {Game Folder}\mods\bf1942\settings\
  2. Open "VideoDefault.con"
  3. Change "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0" to "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1"
    [/list=1]

    Fixed! :D

Been doing that since the demo. :D

Now I wish I could figure out why I keep getting random "Warning! Connection Problems Detected!" errors and then getting disconnected. I run tracerts and my pings and packet loss are fine. Other games work fine...? Must be a bug. It only happens once in awhile. I have noticed sometimes after being kicked, I refresh the server in ASE and the server is down.

Yup. This only applies to people who are using Refresh Force or some other utility to force the 3D refresh higher than 60 Hz.

On of my MAJOR bones to pick with the game. WTF don't they leave that enabled by default? It's 2003 and Voodoo 1 cards are dead - you shouldn't have to hack an INI file to make a game work with standard hardware.

Do you have a Linksys Router?

If so that is most likely the culprit. I had the same problem random disconnects but only in BF42. Finally after exhausting all other ideas including another brand new linksys router I tried a Sohoware broadguard router... problem solved and has not returned.

No I have a Netgear Router. I've tried using DMZ, opening certain ports, nothing has worked.

I'm running a Linksys router with no problem. Make sure you have the latest Firmware for it.

yup I updated all the firmware and returned my linksys for a new linksys. still had connection problems. Then I purchased the Sohoware Broadguard router and have not had a problem since. I have seen many other people remedy their connection problems by switching routers especially Linksys. If u r having conn problrms and are using a router try the game without a router. If they go away u know what is causing it. I know for a fact that linksys routers handle UDP packets poorly.
