Having worked in boating for the last 30 years I can tell you stupidity knows no age limits. :D

When I was around 10 I watched my grandma do one of those "tricks" in that video. We tried to help her get in a boat and she would have none of that. "this is how it's done" she said and proceeded to jump in the boat from the dock. The end result was a severely broken ankle and a ruined day for us youthsters.
