Video Jukebox

Post by Pugsley »

I have been wanting to build a video jukebox for awhile now. I have software and what not figured out but need to build the actual box.

I have been looking for either a touch screen or an all in one touchscreen and then build some sort of jukebox looking enclosure around it and mount it on the wall like a modern touch tunes box. I have thought of taking a full sized older jukebox and converting it but just don't have the heart to destroy one to do it ( I like old EM things).

I have looked around for a used touch jukebox but they always come with software and music and that puts the price over 1k. I figure a decent all in one or I have a PC now that I use to run random videos that I could just add a touch screen to would work but would rather go the all in one route. It needs to have a extra monitor output. The way the software works is primary is the touch interface and secondary is where the videos play. I have several TVs around the house wired up and just need to feed HDMI out of the jukebox to feed them.

Anybody have and leads on decent all in one touch computers or just touch screens in general? I can get a screen for around 200 new and a all in one for around 500 new just figured yous might have stuff laying around or know of some place to get them cheaper.

Thanks.

You might consider a touch-screen laptop. They were really popular when Win8 came out and now they are a dime a dozen. Most have the swivel screens so only the screen is visible and the keyboard is on back.

Yeah I have it figured out. I came across a guy selling 3 "empty" Allegro Touchtunes jukeboxes. Just had to get a 19" ELO and it fits like stock because it is stock. Have a PC that brother in law gave me and gutted it and printed up some mounts to bolt the MOBO to the inside of the jukebox. Its working well at this point. Just waiting on some LED strips and controllers to show up to get the lights working again and it will be exactly what I wanted.

I got lucky finding the empty jukeboxes. This one is not mine but just so you have an ideal of what I now have. Im running videobox from jukeblaster.com Ill post a vid of my actual one when its done.
