i saw Rush Hour 2 last evening

i thought it was great!

jackie chan can't fight like he used to, but he's still unmatched in what he does.
chris tucker, i'm never been a huge fan of, but he proved to be really funny here.

the subtitles were accurate enough for the most part. there were a few scenes where things were just funnier in cantonese than in their english subs. i especially enjoyed the chinese restaurant in LA scene. (i hope that's ambiguous enough to not give anything away...)

one worthwhile note is the hottie in the film. yowzers!!! :tongue

i give Rush Hour 2 -- 4 out of 5 stars

good laughs, hot babe, and pretty good (but not excellent) fight scenes.

i can't wait to see it. i agree with the translations not being as funny as the original chinese...my g/f is taiwanese and when we see movies she'll be laughing at something that wasn't so funny in the subtitles i read, or if it wasn't subtitled at all (something in the background)...and she catches it. i wish i could understand it.

yes, the babe from crouching tiger hidden dragon is awesome. sooo nice.

you know.... i didn't think much of her at all in crouching tigger... but she's got this bad girl facade to her in rush hour 2 that makes her cute. she's got nothing on the other chick star though... OMG... <drool>

Yup Rush Hour 2 is pretty damn funny. Tucker is hella funny. I love his style of comedy ever since Friday. I was suprised by how well he kept up with Jackie Chan in the fighting scenes. And yea the that chick is HOT! The girl from Crouching Tiger is hot also but she never showed any skin. The other one is badass.

Don't expect a great storyline or a deep one. Its just good fun. And stick around afterwards for the outtakes!

No doubt I will see this and maybe tomorrow. I love the first Rush Hour.

btw, it made just over 65mil at the box office this past weekend.

I just got back from it and I thought it was funny. I like Tucker but he irritated me for the first ten minutes, and then he seemed to get better. I think the outtakes were the best part of the movie though

Funniest part to me was the last part of the outtakes.

Otherwise I didn't think too much of it. Just bad timing in parts and it seemed Tucker was trying too hard to be funny like he was in the first one. Does he ever not talk and yell at the same time? Jackie has lost a bit and his english seemed even worse in this film in parts. Probably not enough takes to let him get it right and then too much focus on Tucker. He got 20mil to do this sequel.

He didn't earn it. The whole film just seemed rushed and not enough care to get the timing down better. Rush Hour is so much better and it deserved a better sequel than this.

i saw it tuesday, got to the theatre at 8, the 8 10 show was sold out, as was the 10 o clock one

so we got tickets for the 10 35 one, showed up 20 minutes before the movie started, and the place was already packed...

and this isn't a dinky theatre, its the Famous Players Silvercity one's...

the movie was pretty good imo, funny with some good action scenes. The first one was better though, cept it didnt have zhang zi yi

I'm definitely gonna catch this one. Saw Rush Hour as well, that was pretty good.
Hey if Jackie ain't as speedy or brave as he was before with those crazy stunts, who can blame him (for us asians anyhow) since he's been fighting, jumping up and down and all over, for quite a long long time, long before his north america entrance. People do get old, that's understandable. I don't think I will ever not go watch his movies because he can no longer perform.

As for the chic, how much skin we talkin' 'bout eh

Chris Tucker is alright, I've nothing against him, but nothing for him either.

Other movie I still haven't catched is KOD and heard AP2 was pretty good, so wanna catch that as well

The other thing is I like how Jackie's movies carry with them the outtakes, or what we asians refer to them as "NGs" or no goody. It adds to the value of the movie and makes it special, makes you kinda appreciate their (hard) work a little bit more.

Well I can't see myself turning my nose up at either Roselyn or Zhang zi yi. Especially ZZY. Oh my god. The best part of that movie though? That is easy. When they are in the massage parlour and the owner and another chick open the double doors! 30 incredibly hot Asian women in bikinis!! Oh....mmmm....gggaaaarrrrhhh
