Possible trade XP333-R for XP333

Post by NascarFool »

I have an Iwill XP333-R coming and I don't think I'll be using a raid setup. So I might trade it for an Iwill XP333. Any interest to anyone ? :)

You know you can run your HDD off the RAID controller as single devices ( non-RAID) . :) I'm hearing that the Hpt372 benches faster with a single drive than the standard IDE controller too. I say keep the RAID version as it gives you the ability to stuff up to 8 IDE devices in there and/or set 4 as masters. :)

Then again, how stupid am I? I have the RAID version and I'm using a PCI RAID controller card. :D Card is ata100 Hpt370 and my drives are only 7200/ata100. I didn't want to reformat so I just swapped the whole array ( 2 x 30GB WD300BB's and the ata100 RAID card) into the new mobo ( XP333R) . Weird tho as I have this nice full featured mobo with RAID and 6.1 sound and I ant usin' none of it. Both disabled. DOH !
