POLL: Just curious - how many of you are sports enthusiasts?

I'm the same way: don't really care who won what 'bowl' or 'series' game unless it was a local team, then care a little <g> You forget that you were a nerd before PC's came out. ( that's good ) I LOVE to get under the waves, or jog when my body permits it. I'm hoping to start diving for Abalone this year if time allows. But wasting hours watching a sports game just to watch it? There's too much to do that's neccessary or fun to be a sports potato.

Blade, Re-read what I said there as I think you mis-read what I typed. Maybe "gay" was a bit extreme but most think you're (at least) "weird" if you have the guts to say "I'm not into sports" as one then takes on a very unpopular position in our society, even as an adult. The great thing about getting older (like middle-aged PLUS.....) is that one can speak more openminded on just about anything w/o really caring what others think anymore. When we're younger, especially in school, most of us who weren't really into sports then probably tryed to pretend that they were just to not be an outcast (thought of as being "weird" or "whatever" ).

When i was a tad' bit' smaller, I tried a bunch of different sports. NONE of them ever kept my attention. When we moved, I fell into computers. I watch sports, but only when I don't have something better to do..

All right, I will admit there's ONE sport I used to watch avidly when I lived in New York (can't get it down here).

WOMEN'S ROLLER DERBY!!!!

Now THAT'S entertainment. Nothing like watch tall amazons in tight shorts beat the crap outta each other on roller skates.

500 cable channels... surely by now we should have a 24/7 women's roller derby channel? :chug

not me im not a sports guy i like skateboarding and snowboarding thats all im into and thats all i do... but i do like the steelers but they suck and i did watch the super bowl... thats all

College Football is fun to watch for me....when it involves local teams.
Always fun when my team TTU plays my wifes team TAMU.
Now there is a reason to watch sports....Braggin Rights.

Another sport that is fun to watch is Euro. Rally Racing.
Nothing like seeing Collen McRae Drive
NASCAR.....I personally think is a joke, but Im not gonna dis on anyone who likes it.

OK FP, now that you mention women, I might even enjoy seeing 'em mud wrestling once in a while too but that's not exactly a conventional sport per-se. The term "sport" can be a bit loose, even here where it lists "skirt chasing" as being one of those listed in Sports Hideout forum here I didn't know that that was considered to be a "sport" but why not?

I'm not into football or baseball,I do like tennis and volleyball. Not a real big sports buff.

I'm not into sports at all. I wrestled in school for a little bit and watch a little bit of football when the Steelers were doin good. But otherwise I'm not a sports person.

me too i play football and wrestle but last year in football camp i sprained my neck and dislocated the 7th disc in my spine and i took a year off this year every once and a while my neck hurts really bad....

main thing i m into is basketball...

hockey and football i will watch sometimes, but not enough to keep up on player transactions and stuff

i know the rosters of most teams in the NBA...

Oh God.... just got a call from a friend who likes car racing. He has two tickets for Daytona next weekend. He can't drive (lost his license years ago). Wants me to take him.

I'll probably have more fun watching him and the crowd, but it might be interesting seeing a race in person. Not excited by anymeans, but it'll be interesting.


I went with a friend to a WCW wrestling match in Miami once. Couldn't believe this guy - sophisticated rock musician with no patience for most things he considers "frivolous" - was a wrestling nut. He brought banners I had to help him with and everything.

I had more fun watching him make an idiot of himself than I did watching the match, but it was fun

But as for you question.. Nope.. I cannot sit down and watch grown men fight over a ball. Never have never will. I took track, basket ball, wresaling but hated it. It seemed pointless.

Now lets take man and machine.. YAA! The UTIMATE endurance test.. Drive a car for three hours straight, never get out, and dont lose you train of thought for 1 second or ya spin.. no pee breaks either...
But really..
Man has evovled over the years so I think we should drop the ball and advance... I mean a flat football never killed anybody.. A flat at 200MPH will..
Men risk there lives out there and are willing to to die for what they believe in.. AND guess what? Ya dont have to look like a fridge to drive one of these fine cars!!
