Okay, time to talk beer.
In Miami we had some great import beer places where I enjoyed lots of off the wall stuff. I lost my taste for watery American beer 12 years ago.
I love Guiness Stout, Bass, harp, Warsteiner, Fosters (only in the "Oil can" thank you),
Here's some of my more UNUSUAL favorites:
- Samichclaus Beer (not sure of the spelling). Swiss for "Santa Claus". It's brewed ONCE a year on Christmas day. Something like 14% alchohol (HIC!!!) and one the most unusual tastes I ever experienced. VERY strong dark beer with a potent brandy after taste. Drink two and you're toast. It's like $8 A BOTTLE when you can find it. I usually order a case from the gourmet liquor store in Miami for around $80 - $100. Not an everyday beer needless to say - VERY special. An annual extravegance I haven't treated myself to in a while. I'll usually make the case last all year.
- La Fin Du Monde ("End of the World") - Quebec. 11% Alchohol. Very potent light body ale. My all-time favorite
- Eau Benite - Quebec
- Maudite - Quebec

Veltins, a German beer ... I lived for 6 years in the US and was lucky enough to be able to buy German beer duty free in our office.
I drink other German beers when I can't get Veltins.

I also like Budweiser, nah, not the one from Annheuser-Busch, I'm talking real beer, the Czech Budweiser Budvar, a real fine beer -> http://www.budweiser.cz .

Mac-n-Jack's African Amber is my favorite. Only available by the keg, so you have to hit the taverns and clubs. Just about every proprietor in the greater Seattle area taps it. Even my wife thinks it tastes good, and she hates beer. Always fresh, cuz it's the most popular beer around. I was a little pissed one day last year, going to a popular sports club to watch the All-Stars game, and they ran out before the second inning, and didn't have any more kegs. I almost left, but they had a few other beers that are decent.
By the bottle, there's Redhook IPA and ESB. Before Redhook sold their souls to Budweiser, their ESB was a very special bitter...now it's more mainstream, but still a good beer.
Alaskan Amber is very smooth, easy aftertaste. Great summer beer for the daytime hanging out at the beach.
Bass is what I drink at Epcot Center. Florida doesn't have much taste for good beer, so there isn't a lot to choose from.
Vegas and Reno suck. All they have is thin, yellow beer. Makes me wanna keep all my money...

Don't die without trying Delirium Tremens- the best beer in the world IMO. Hard to find, but it comes in a large, white $15 bottle. It's worth it , though.
Other contenders (and a little less expensive): Wild Goose IPA, Rogue Shakespeare Stout, anything by New Knoxville Brewing Co. (good luck- they closed down so there are just a few dozen kegs left at a few taverns), and of course, anything ABITA

Almost anything from Belgium. Samuel Smiths Pale Ale from England is a good stand by.
Recently I started drinking an occasional Fruity beer/ale from Belgium: small bottles for $4... almost a mix between champagne and beer. I really really dislike 'fruity' beers, but this one ( the rasberry at least ) tastes great!
I've often thought of buying or renting a 1/4 or half keg fridge/tap... but would'nt want to unless I could keep it filled with something really good. Does anyone know if Belgian beers are imported in partial keg quantaties?

I always thought 'fruity' beers would suck, but the lambics that bluewhale mentiones are excellent.
My favorite lamic style beer is called Lucifer. You can get it in 750 mL bottles for about $6. The price is right, considering it is tasty stuff.

As you are fellow beer lovers, I thought you might also enjoy Armagnacs or other things from time to time. I ran across a family owned liquor store in SF a few years ago that decided to get into Web retailing early... I hear from family and friends around the country that the prices they get from D&M, including shipping, often beat anything locally found.
They also have 'clubs'... with the Armagnac club you get a bottle 4 times a year chosen by them, often bottled only for them ( because of their volume/repeat buys ) for perhaps 15-20% less than retail, with an option to buy more while they last. For myself, I collect Francis Durroze however being in the club has broadened my appreciation of Armagnac, not to mention my waist line
They also have various cognac, whiskey, bourben ect clubs. IYI they are at
