whats a good printer to get?

Post by knightofnee1112 »

Whats a good printer to get for around $100? my HP DeskJet 550 is a piece of shit ive tried cleaning it and i had it "profresstionaly" cleaned it still wont work right, im thinking i dont want another HP printer, ive seen the new ones and im unimpressed. anywho this post is pritty open, i was thinking of a cannon printer or something, i really havent looked into printers yet but something for about $100 will do what i want it to.

All i really do with my printer is print out small pictures and long 'readme' files or documantation for stuff, i few reports for school as well, i don't really expect it to be really fast around 8PPM for color and bout 16PPM for black and white / text.

thanks in advance all :)

For 100 bucks you can get a HP920 Printer. Slower printing but a 2400x1200 Dpi makes up for it. Only problem is it uses Hp15 black inkjet cartridge, which is the lower capacity black hp cartridge. Other that that and the slower speed, its a o.k. printer. Now for $399.99 you can get the Sleekly designed HP photosmart 1315. PRETTY !!! Or go halfway for $199.99 and get the nice HP photosmart 1115.

And no I am not an HP sales rep.:B

I have had good luck with my latest HP's. the hp photosmart 1315 photo printer is the COOLEST and best printer I have ever owned. :) but it is like $400 so that isnt what U are looking for. Your only real options out there in good printers are HP and Epson. I liek HP's because there ink cartrages are usually Larger and cheaper for the amount of ink.

If text is important then you don't want an epson. Text isn't the best with them. Lexmark and HP printers do better text, but their photo's are not as good. So it depends on what you want the most, text or photos. Lexmark and HP do print good photo's, just slightly less than epsons.
