He wasn't funny on SNL...
... so what makes them think Colin Quinn is going to be funny with his own show? Did anyone else catch his show tonight? It was so lame. It was like a never-ending monologue like you might see on Leno or Letterman. I kept thinking "this isn't a show. It's just a bunch of people telling jokes." Honestly I wasn't expecting much and only watched it to confirm my belief that it will die an early death.

Ain't that the truth. He delivered the news with a good voice and when he knew the joke was a little over the top, he just went with it and made it funnier.....Originally posted by succubiss

Colin Quinn survived on SNL for so very long for the same reason he survived on MTV for so long...
He was "screwing the pooch"
Whomever's pooch he was screwing was powerful enough to get smart people to bend over as much as Quinn did.
He seldom ever delivered a punchline on SNL without screwing it up with a stutter or a stammer. I hope his next job is as a bike delivery boy, just so he could shed a few pounds...
