FSB Overclocking and Memory Timings...

Post by Sean »

Help.. I want to get my computer up to 1.5 Ghz, with at least a 145 FSB. I have 2 Crucial PC2100 sticks.

Where do I start? First I move the multiplyer down to around 6 - 8 right? Than i rise the FSB by like 5 increments, than as it becomes more unstable, I do 1 increments?

Ah, and Ram timings... What's the best, what's the middle?

Can anyone walk me through this?

PS: I am going to search after this post, so if there is already a guide, LMK. :D

OK, I got my processor to 145 FSB.

Than i tried CAS Latency, or whatever it is, at 2, instead of 2.5 and it didn't boot into Windows.

Does that mean, that I need to back down on teh Multiplyer, FSB, or just leave it at 2.5? (What I'm at now).

I'm currently at 1445 MHz.. on an Athlon 1300 Mhz.

Ah, sorry. ;)

I'm on a GA-7DXR:
AMD 761 North, which had a Zalman Chipset HS recently added to it. ;)
Via 686B South

Current Ram voltage is at 2.5, I could set it at 2.6 or 2.7. Right now I am at 133 FSB with 2 CAS Letency and High Performance Enabled.. (Or does that hurt performance?)

Thanks.

8 8 8 2 6 2 2 for the ram timings i'm sure it has the same timings as the 8k7a has since its the same chipset. u should be able to figure it out just by lookin' at the numbers for each of hte timings... i'd bump the ram voltage up to 2.6 or 2.7 thoguh i'd your gonna go higher on the FSB

Cool, thanks.

I will probably rise Ram voltage to 2.6, try 145 FSB and do the above Ram timings.. Not today though.. Too busy... :)
