cooling problem

Post by wannabetech »

Hey guys and gals-

here is my situation.......

case temp is bout 31-34 degrees celsius
while my cpu temp is 41-45 degrees celsius

im using a global win cakII 38 w/ arctic silver 3 termal grease.

my cpu temp used to run alot cooler and lately i noticed that it has been at idle and full load at alot higher temps. as u can see there is a 10 degree difference there....used to be like 4-5degree difference... i looked at my heatsink and its not clogged up with dust or anything. Could my heatsink's fan be going down the drain or should i pull it off and re grease it with the thermal compound?

thanks guys!

lets see... Fan or fan header failing? More dust in the case fans? they would make less air moving around the case? could be another fan aswell...PS fan or something.

I dont know 31-34c case temp seems pretty high to me. The temp in my room has to get into the 90s before I see case temps that high. Usually in the low 20sc. I think if you cooled off that case you CPU temps would drop.

Like dad mentioned, is your room temp higher than it use to be? Room temp does effect the cpu temp also.

What cpu are you using and what are you using to get temps?
