I got a soyo motherboard, it's got temp and RPM sensors, I want to monitor my tempatures closely while in windows, and in linux (slackware 8). I looked around in google's results, and found nothing. I hate having to look at the bios every time i want to see my CPU temp... so, anyone know of of a few good "MBM headers" (I guess thats what one would call it.)??
Thanks in advance!

You have to make sure under Linux that your kernel has I2C support compiled, all explained on that page.

i 2nd Motherboard Monitor 5 (MBM5). i have an ASUS CUSL2 mobo that temps from the thermal diode inside the CPU, the northbridge of the i815E chipset, and the case temp (i'm not sure where this particular diode is located on the mobo). MBM5 is able to detect these 3 sensors and up to 7 more if you have a total of 10 heat sensors on your board. it also detects 4 fan sensors, of which i use three (hsf, front case fan, and rear case fan). it draws voltage measurements too. for some reason MBM5 allows you to measure to core (CPU) voltages, but they both seem to draw from the same sensor, so i just use one and turn the other off. then it measures the +3.3v, +5v, -5v, +12v, and -12v voltages.
remember, the software readings are only as good as the hardware used to measure these temps, fan speeds, and voltages. but it is one of the better one out there when it comes to easy to use software with a clean user interface...
