Thank you all for your thoughts and kindness.
Just got home but am going back in a day or so. Have to take care of a few things.
My Mom is doing as good as can be expected. She is still having a hard time accepting losing her eye. The swelling of her face has pretty much gone away but now her skin is discolored from the assorted bruises and cuts. That should all clear up in a month or 2 at most. She has some bad bruises on her face, neck (real bad) and chest around her heart in addition to her compound fracture. Her hand and fingers are mostly colored black from the hit and from the bone piercing through.
My stepdad is mostly ok. He was the driver and the hit was on my Mom's side. He does have a broken wrist and some broken ribs. Both broke their left wrist. He is eating some but Mom is not eating much at all yet.
Families on both sides have been there to see them everyday and my step dads family lives closer, around 30-45 minutes away. We are all 3 hours away. My sister and one of his daughters are there now.
The local paper there had most of the facts wrong but we found one who had them mostly right. Last we heard the 2 kids are still in bad shape and they don't know yet if they will live. I do hope they live of course.
There were 3 kids in the backseat and 2 adults in the front. The driver was going around 55 in a 45 mph zone and went right through 2 large stop signs along with the caution light. Witnesses said she never even slowed down.
If you wish to read about it, see below. The Fosters are my Mom and step dad.

They had a pic of my Moms car turned over in the paper but don't seem to on their website. The car they show right side up is the one that hit them.
I'm just amazed how my Mom and step dad survived and especially around 40 minutes being upside down hanging from their seatbelts as my Mom bled. She also has a deep gash under her lost eye. But they are alive, that is much to be thankful for.
People at the hospital are so nice and caring, as are the medics and troopers involved in their rescue. They have been coming by every day checking.
Thanks again
