no display to laptop........HELP

Post by mesican »

Ok i know why i do not get the display to the laptop screen, because the orange cable that connects the screen to the mother board has a hole in it and it cut several metal wires. Its a dell insprion 3800 and the orange cable is flat. Do you know where i can get a new flat orange cable from my dell :( . i really dont want to take it in to a computer repair shop and get charged 300 hundred bucks.

thanks.

and it has no warranty.

Good luck, but usually the cable comes with the LCD - usually it's soldered right to it.

Try LaptopsforLess.com

Probably you'll need to get it from Dell. If the cable connects to a socket on both ends then you're LUCKY. Call Dell tech support and ask them to send you a cable. Shouldn't be much.

Failing that you could find someone who's a good solderer and has the patience of a saint to remanufacture the old cable.

How old is the laptop? Dells usually have 2 years on site warranty and 3 years parts.
