The barton is okay.
For some people, the performance of the barton is lesser than expected.
about the model rating: This rating was due more to marketing decisions.
btw AMD is doing an Intel for Barton pricing. They have to make money somehow.

the oc on these chips
may end up being limited by the extra cache - they will require more power, and ll those transistors will have to talk to each other - sort of like the early duron/tbird - I remember when you could punch the durons over 1 gig much more easily than the tbirds - the added cache may make them faster at certain apps though

I am getting ready to upgrade to the 2800 chip. I will probably be using a nforce2 board, maybe the Asus a7n8x board. My question is should I get the t-bred chip or the barton chip. I think the t-bred is 2.25ghz and the barton I think is a little slower processor speed.
What are your suggestions . I currently have a msi 333 with a 1900 now. The expert computer kid here needs more speed and power for her video processings and movie making.

Well I switched to WinXP on this new rig and after some hardware/software issues I think I've Finally have her straightened out (hopefully) and I've got the 2100XP@2290mhz with F@H running 24/7 temp is at 106 degF , when I get my Vantec Iceburg kit installed on NB/SB I will attempt to push it higher (had it over 2300 mhz for a bit but backed off )
