I was replying to Nexus's inane comments , not yours. Rather than inflame any members or administrators any further with any attempts at frank discussion, I'll restrict my use of PCA to the various computer related forums. I doubt that will break many hearts here in the off topic sections.

Everyone is entitled to their political opinions. While I do not agree with the war I am supporting the troops. DO ANY OF YOU HAVE CHILDREN IN IRAQ RISKING THEIR LIVES? I DO. HE IS PART OF THE 1ST MARINE EXPIDITIONARY UNIT IN WHICH THEY HAVE ALREADY LOST MEN. i AM VERY PROUD OF HIM AND HIS UNIT.... YES I DO WORRY HE MAY BE KILLED. And I will Call Bush anything I want to!!! I do not have to respect him to be a good American!! Not only is my son in Iraq, but I'm also a vetern myself. My brothers served in Desert Storm, Viet Nam. So does that make me a bad american for calling Bush a greedy Oil Baron?
By the way,my son ask for toliet paper in his care package. Thank you George for taking such great care of our fighting men and women.

I see many people saying things like "we may have our opinions about war, but these differences should be set aside, we should band together because we are in a state of war". No, I believe in this war, I've been full for it for a long time, and keep up on its status as much as I can, but at the same time, I think that people who are against the war shouldn't be met with any resentment. At war or not, our civil liberties should not be shunned...I keep thinking of the Japanese Internement camps from WWII, granted this is no where near the levety of which that situation was, but, in a small way, I see the concept being the same. At war or no, people should stand up and fight for what they believe in, if they think something is wrong, then fight to have whatever the situation is remedied. Even if that means not granting our troops the respect that some think they need.

Yes, people are entitled to their political opinions but they are not entitled to cram their views down everyone elses throats. People can peacefully protest, thats fine. But when they start doing stuff like blocking traffic, "vomit in,' and worse it gives those who do peacefully protest a black eye.

Folks keep talking about silencing, yet from the protests going on everyone would guess the protestors {a lot of whom are clueless sheep} represent the majority. What right do they have to force their views on everyone else?

Frankly people are tired of protestors out there causing trouble. Its funny how the so-called "Peace-Movement" is so prone to violence.

And yes some out there do want to see US and UK troops hurt and killed.

I'm for this military action but I also agree that voicing your opinion against the war if you believe it is wrong is as patriotic as voicing your opinion for it if you believe it is right. As long as we support our troops then speaking one mind about this situation one way or another if very American. I also am not impressed with Dubya as I think his diplomatic skills leave a lot to be desired. Frankly I believe that he failed us by alienating our allies to the point where they were more afraid of us than they were of Hussien.

You ever wonder why Clinton was able to send troops into Bosnia,Haiti and Kosovo without approval from the UN and was able to get out allies to support us?

At least Dubya is making up for the cowardly actions of his father when he abandoned the brave people of Iraq after American Support for them uprising against Hussien never was delivered as promised which resulted in the brutal suppresion of thousands of Shia and Kurds!

That's a rather simplistic view. If you read all the literature about the first Gulf War - particularly Collin Powell's biography - there was really no way we could have taken Iraq without sever political repercussions. The coalition would have fallen apart, and we may even have had coalition forces attacking our own troops.

I expect brainless activity sometimes from pink but your way of insulting our president is rather disappointing fp. Whether or not you like him or disagree with him I believe he deserves better respect, because he is still our president. Though "dubya' sounds more humorous than insulting.

As usual with pink, he also makes very valid points. I do agree Bush isn't the best at diplomacy and he has hasn't done a good enough job at conveying the reasons why we need to remove hussein. And yes pappa Bush was better at diplomacy, and the son doesn't come across as controlled either. I just hope he sticks to his guns and doesn't stop till that bath party regime is gone for good.

I always got the impression that the American people (as well as many others), wanted to see that Bush did everything within reason to avoid the conflict we are currently in, and that's the reason why we went through the UN.
