My rooms unbearibly hot...

Post by Sean »

Well, this sucks. Brand new house, and there's a leak in out Freon hose somewhere... It is currently nearly 90 F in my room right now. I am practically burning up. My processor is dying too. i can't even run F@H without my temp getting too high for comfort.

This *ucking sucks.. :(

(it's around 80 outside...but, lucky me, I got the room facing towards the senset...and I'm the ONLY person ever upstairs!!)

If I was in Idaho, I'd come fix it for you. Been fixing them all day today.

I went through the same thing last summer for a few weeks when my a/c was down and everyone was too busy to fix it. It is tough.

Get one of those large $10 box fans at wally world. That is a life saver. ;)

bit late on the post, but i found what works well is to turn on the ceiling fan and then grab a big towel, wet it down and wear it around on your back. seriously it cools you right down, as for your computers, your on your own. BTW Mom is too cheap to let the A/C on more then a couple hours. so it's consitantly about 100 in the house and hotter most of the time, coming from Red Bluff California, Home of the boat drags, and 120 degree weather! I got

Post by Sean »

AC was fixed when I got home on Friday. Ahhh, the refreshing coolness of AC... :D Now my room hovers around 73-75 F most of the day. Right outside my bedroom door is where the thermostat is located. So, when my mom got home yesterday, she started crabbing about how the rest of the house was 65 and my room and the hallway was at 74. I'd much rather have my room at 65 and the rest of the house at 74. :D My computer runs a lot cooler now, too. At night, when my door is closed, it really heats up in there. All this because of my computer! My room got hotter with my fans on high too, which is a good sign. ;)

Believe it or not the main cause of heat is the monitor. God damn those CRTs get hot. I want a LCD!

I don't really care for AC. I'de rather have it warm. I hate being in an AC house then going outside to do something. It makes it unbearable to do anything outside.

Hmm, yeah, I do have a 19" CRT and a 15" CRT pushed to its limits... :D Guess that is one reason for heat too... :p
