Do you have the broken cap, was it broken during shipping or before it was shipped?

hey billigoat, the cap belonged to my asus tv tuner card, not my mobo, tried single and had 550 watt power supply, that i just bought and still no good. Tyan tech support was helpful and told me to do diff things and still nothing, no beeps or nothing, so they told me its gonna need to be replaced the motherboard. I just bought this from trader at 2cpu.com not sure what happens from this point on with our deal. Never had mobo go bad, not sure if bad packaging it didnt come in anti static bag just by itself.
ouch, he didnt even wrap it in tin foil?
Dont tell tyan that if you try to rma it

No matter, a trader is responsible for getting you working and undamaged hardware. He needs to take care of this, not you.
If you need assistance, just let me know. But talk with him first and see if he will do what's right.
How was it packaged?

Blade the capacitor blew off my asus tv tuner card. Now problem with motherboard it came wrapped in newspaper, i bought the combo from him. It was the cpus, the hsf, motherboard, ram. Everything seem packaged pretty well till i saw that motherboard was wrapped in newspaper. I will have to see if this is eligible first for rma, even if its possible for it to be done who should pay for the rma shipping fee???
Newspaper?
Thats almost as bad as when red dawn got a hardrive wrapped in someones underpants
why would someone take a motherboard worth 125-175 and do that is beyond me. I would insist on a refund and buy someone elses board, if not he should pay for all rma charges plus try to make it up to you somehow...
Sometimes things happen that are beyond our control, but wrapping a motherboard in newspaper is hardley close to good computer ediquite

Now I am cornfused.
Is the mobo damaged or does it just not work?
If either of the 2 above, he needs to pay for any shipping for an rma. Or you can demand a full refund and let him worry about it as BG suggested.
And he needs a lecture into proper shipping. Gotta use anti static bags too. It could have been zapped.

yup it was the poor packaging im guessing, i had power supply that was 350 watt more than sufficient but i was told i need 35A on the 5+, so bought a new power supply still had no go, we will see im waiting for response back he answer messages pretty quickly. He was also nice enough to provide a number to call. The motherboar just doesnt seem to want to post, it turns on as soon as i plug in power source without pressing power button.
Gee, too bad you bought another psu just for this. He told you to do that?
You did try one stick of ram and a different video card, and reseat the ram and video card? If so, then you should make the decsision how to handle this.
