i need help!! please help

if power switch connector is reversed on the mb it will not fire up or start depending on motherboard and give you that beep

Makes absolutely no difference if you reverse the polarity of the power or reset switch. If you reverse any of the LED connectors the LED won't come on, but it won't hurt anything.

a lot of boards also have a fan off control that makes it turn off after 2 seconds and beep. press insert right after power to bypass it. or look in your manual if its a different key. thats about the only thing the others didnt mention so i wish u luck.

or anything in the case that would cause a short

Check the stand offs. I had one do the same thing. And once, one kept giving me an error of a bad cpu.

i got it working, the copper shim was upside-down (careless mistake)

At least it was just shorting it out, and didn't fry it!

Copper shims should never be used. You were very lucky.

They do make non-conductive shims. I believe crazypc carries them.

Yeah, it just wasn't your computer's time to go...or was it??

Make sure it isn't playing Final Destination on your computer dude, WATCH OUT!
