I overclocked my P4 2.4C to 3.0 GHz tonight. So far it seems stable. The CPU voltage is at 1.525v and I am using the stock Intel heatsink/fan. The highest temp I saw during the benchmarks was 58 C. As I am typing this, the CPU temp is 45 C and the Case temp is 37 C. The DDR voltage is set at 2.6v, and the memory set to run at a 5:4 ratio to the FSB (250). I ran a few benchmarks and here are the results:

In addition to the p4 2.4C, I have an Abit IS7-E motherboard, 512 MB Corsair PC3500 DDR, 80 GB Seagate SATA hard drive, Leadtek GeForce 4 TI4400 (44.03 drivers and not overclocked)
I have no idea if these benchmarks are good or bad, just thought I would share them with you. I know the graphics card is probably holding me back.

That's a sweet OC. Nice work !! Your temps are a bit high. I'd look into a better HS/fan and maybe look over your case cooling.
My temps are approx 29C system / 43C idle and 31C system / 48C load with 1.78v on the CPU. Default is 1.65v. RAM, chipset, AGP are all at default. 2.66v, 1.6v, 1.5v respectively.
I'm gonna take the liberty to post some of the same benches done by a OCed Barton 2500+ (1.83 GHz) running @ 2331 Mhz, using a similar video card (MSI G4 Ti-4400/128MB) that's not OCed. TwinMOS PC3200 is at cas2,2,3,6 in synch w/ CPU FSB of 202.73 ( as per WCPUID ).
No worries, you're kickin' me around the benchmark neighborhood pretty good in all of them except some of the PCmark2002 #'s and 3dMark2001SE.
If you want to test stability, use prime95 for the whole system and memtest_86 version 3.0 for your ram. Nuthin' better. Prime95 will drive you nutz tho if your rig isn't 100% tuned up.
My config passes both but I think I'm about max'd out where I'm at.
As usual, us AMD folks are left to wonder "what if AMD could put out a chip at the same clock speed!" The beat goes on.

I need to do some more work on this thing to try and get the CPU temps down. I'm thinking about getting a Zalma CNPS7000AlCu heatsink fan to replace the stock Intel heatsink/fan. Also, I won't be in such a hurry to get the PC running so I can take the time to lap the heatsink.
Another thing I might consider is to replace the 3 80mm no name case fans with some good Vantec Stealth fans.
Once that is done, I just have to wait for Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 to come out and see which card runs them the best.

I wouldn't worry about those temps really. Abit's mobos have been over-reading the CPU temp by as much as 10c for a while now. If you want serious P4 cooling, the SLK-900u or the 7000AlCu are good choices, although I'd go with the 900u because its simply more versatile. As for the temps, get this - my IS7 reports load temps as 61-63c with a swiftech MCX4000. However, my machine is 100% stable. I'm looking into water cooling, mainly because it eliminates a good deal of noise.

my p4 2.0 @ 2505 run between 32 and 45 , but i got an alpha on it, never had problems with the stock HS- but it was hotter, p4 's are designed to throttle down when they get too hot, never had that happen , but it kicks in at really high temp (68 or something)
