nice, but neither of those links prove that this setting is beneficial. All that the MS document says is that setting CSU=1 will help some device drivers that expect Win95-style behavior.
A new os install seems to have helped. But, when running some intensive apps, things still do get a bit slower afterwards. It's like it robs my memory. For example opening a browser, it hangs for a bit and then opens. Once opened though, all is ok.
I have a 160gb as massa and have it partitioned as a 40 (os install) and a 120gb. My slave is a 120gb, no partitions.
XP set it up as C drive 1537 minimum and 3072 as max. The 120gb partition and the slave drive has no paging file set up. Should they?
thanks

You could split up your pagefile over two HDDs, that improves pagefile performance a lil (think simple RAID-0 for your pagefile). Or you should put the pagefile on the HDD that has less usage.
The Storagereview-FAQ has a quick rundown on splitting up the pagefile right here.
I personally prefer a set size for my pagefile, it gives less fragmentation (min/max same value).
