need a good mp3 to wav conversion proggie

Post by Lmandrake »

I have been using Winamp to convert mp3s to WAVs and am unhappy with the results from the two plug-ins i have been using. If anyone has any suggestions for a good (free) mp3 to wav conversion program i would be very grateful.

Thanks

The one I use is called "ReMixer MP3 to WAV Converter". It came out in 2000. The link for it is not valid, as it goes to zdnet for the download. If you want, I can email it to you or if you have an ftp server, I can up it to you. I like it because it's small, fast, and free. The ~ size is 1meg.

I think Music Match jukebox will do it too. I am using the registered version now, but I think the free one will still convert MP3 to wave and visa versa. I don't do that much though, unless I am burning a CD for my radio that does not play mp3 or want to edit it. Otherwise I mostly convert my Cds TO mp3s for the computer and players that I have that will play em, then I burn em to CDR.

SOmetimes I do like to remove parts of a song, like all that talking junk in Meatloafs songs. Some good songs then ruin them (my opinion) with talking or trash in the middle! Cut the crap out and you actually have some good music :)

Winamp can do it, I haven't done it in a while... I don't remember how to do it 100% but I know you need to change the output of winamp...
