Yes, this SP-97 is only for AMD. The SP-94 is for intel.
It hasn't been fully released yet and only one store that I know of currently has it,
heatsinkfactory. Just 54.99.

But I'd wait till some like kdc, crazypc, svc carries it. Should be anytime.
Since that hhc-001 came out I thought heatpipes would be used much more too. It is strange that they haven't. I doubt it'll be much better than the slk900a, but we'll see. Maybe 1-3c max.
That hhc-001 was also about the last of the single clip ffrom the major makers. They learned to always use a 3 pronged clip mostly because of the weight.
*just noticed this came direct from Taiwan.
**Press Release from Thermalright:
SP-97, answering the call for an unrivalled thermal solution for Socket A cooling.
Thermalright, Inc. Press Release:
Thermalright, Inc., a world leading company of CPU thermal solutions, proudly introduces the SP-97, the newest member to its formidable SP line of heat sinks.
With minor adjustments on Heatpipe angles to ease customers with installation, a brand new base plate design to provide shortest passage for thermal energy dissipated by socket A CPU, and 3 large heatpipes, the SP-97 has improved thermal performance when used with low speed fans (90/92mm * 25 mm, 1500 RPM) for most silent demanding PC users and outrageous cooling capability of 130W when coupled with the Delta FFB0912EHE for those trying to squeeze out every last bit of performance from their system. No other heatsink manufacture has yet produced a HSF that possesses these extreme characteristics in the same package. Again, engineers at Thermalright prove that in pursue of silent computing, one can also enjoy powerful computers without worry.
With Thermalright patented stepping fin design to accommodate a vast selection of fans to each user’s unique need, smart thin wire fan clips to reduce unwanted airflow disturbance, new coating technique to provide better corrosion resistance and Thermalright’s unrivalled reputation as THE dominate air-cooling performer, SP-97, as its older brother SP-94, will again show PC enthusiasts around the world how air-cooling should be done.
