Oh c'mon. That's not even close to being accurate. Who were the first people to die fighting fascism in the late thirties? Do a web search on the "Abraham Lincoln Brigade" and the Spanish Civil War and then take a guess.

here in the Detroit area we have the largest Arabic population in the USA - I'm getting the feeling that some on this board feel we should put up a large fence .and heard all these people in .like they try-ed and did after peril harbor was bombed - this would be so wrong . not that some here in the states shouldn't be locked up @
but we cant lock up people just because they are from some part of the world -or look a particular way !
and who has that right to chose !
if that be the case we be no better then hitler was !

also who might it be next (english looking people ,or you have blond hair so you my be problem and we need to lock you up .or you have hazel eyes so your getting locked up !

or you live in a yellow house and drive a blue car so you are being locked up ?

All right guys lets take a step back and a deep breath shall we. Obviously Sov has some very extreme ideas. I dont totally agree with him but now knowing where he comes from I do understand how he feels the way he does. Hell seeing that video of the beheading and a relatively minor personal confrontation with a Muslim had me pretty pissed off I can imagine how Sov feels having lost family members in Iraq. Genocide is not the answer even Sov knows that even if his posts have said or inferred differently. That being said to me it is obvious that something major has to be done or this problem is going to go on forever. What is the answer? Hell if I know. To be totally honest a lot of this stuff is over my head. For me it is very easy to get lost in the ins and outs of world politics. I see everyone shooting holes in Sov's ideas and rightfully so on many accounts but I dont see anyone offering up any alternatives either. Nothing seems to work with these Radical Muslims, not even killing them. What angers me about the point of view the "liberals" here seem to have is it's focus seems to be on what we has a nation have done wrong and pays little or no attention to the wrongs done to us. NO DOUBT we have done many horrid wrong things, the Iraqi prison scandal points that out and is probably minor compared to other things we have done. That being said nothing we have done compares to the barbaric things our enemy does on a regular basis. So what are we to do. Let them hit us and knock us down then stand up and say "That is not right please dont do that" so they can do it again. I think it is time to fight fire with fire and go after these radical Muslims and not stop until the only Muslim's left are the good ones. If we make a few mistakes and take out some of the good ones along the way I say too bad we're sorry but that is the way it goes. That is more than they give us.

If I, or someone else, criticizes some policy or act of the United States, why do you conclude that the criticism means that what has been done to us is forgiven? Does this criticism automatically mean that the U.S. should do nothing and, as dad suggests, just stand in one place wringing its hands and getting its ass kicked?

If I think the prison scandal is a bad thing and say something about it, it doesn't mean I am losing sleep over the prisoners or the "rights" of any terrorist or suspected terrorist. It certainly doesn't mean that I think one American should suffer even the equivalent of an ingrown toenail from the hands of our enemies. It does mean that I think this conduct is something U.S. soldiers should not do (or get caught doing). It certainly isn't consistent with the image of the U.S. as "liberators" of Iraq. If terrorists need safe places to live and train, it certainly doesn't help us if the "ordinary" people in those areas see those pictures on the "Al-packoflies" network.

I don't profess to know how to fight these terrorist scumbags. Responding with indiscriminate overwhelming force, like the Israelis do, doesn't seem to be working that well for them. If I kill 13 people and one of them is a terrorist, what about the other 12? Each of them has friends and families. How many of them are going to end up hating us like the Sov hates muslims?

I am all for killing all the terrorists. The question is not if, but how.
