Medium here except for the water. If I turn up anything higher it lags bad. Autodetect does give you the best visual experience versus performance.

Far Cry (like HL2 will be ) is pushing the limits on today's technology.

Hey FP,

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know what to think about this game, I saw an ad in maximum PC and thought it looked cheesy, just goes to show ya, don't judge a book by its cover.

I just got home from Wally World and am installing it now, four damn disks, out of control man, out of control.

I agree, FarCry is one cool game.

What gets me is how on some forums, people are ripping it to shreds. It makes me wonder what some people are looking for in a game. Some seem to spend all this money on a gaming system and then spend all their time in forums criticizing games. I guess they would rather have their vid card overclocked (of course with all the eye candy on) and enjoy the performance in forums. Heh heh.

To me, this game has it all. And what's refreshing is these guys know what they're doing, being able to create a game with these kind of visuals and still run the way it does.

A lot of game makers could take some lessons from these guys and some other game makers like Painkiller and Manhunt. Whether you like these games or not, they run extremely well and no one can take that away from them.

I was playing it about a month ago, then I reinstalled the op system and lost my progress. Oh well, just will have to do it again.

It is a pretty good game, I think for betterment sakes, play it single player before you ty multi. That way you don't look too noobish. There is a variety of weapons and tactics that you can learn playing single player that you just might not get playing multiplayter for a while.

Yep, this game will test your system, that's for sure. The good thing though is the game is only slowed down by the system. A lot of other games are slowed down by the game itself, meaning no matter what system is used, the performance is still bad. I can always upgrade my system if needed to improve a game's performance but can do nothing about a game that just runs bad no matter what.
