i dont know if it applies to this but a while back some of my letters stopped working.. like s and n.. so i just popped up the s and n keys and flipped them upside down.. tested it out
it worked for some reason
thats was 2+ years ago
using the same exact keyboard right now to type this
That could be the problem, not enough pressure on the membrain or weak membrain.
I don't understand how it works though. Key pushes rubber membrain, membrain pushed on a peice of palstic that has a thin flat wire in it. How does the wire know what key is pushed? I'll tear it apart again and see if I can destroy it further.
Thanks
I'm not lazy by nature, I work very hard at being lazy.
I service and repair old IBM point of sale keyboards. What can happen is dust and debris (or soft drinks) can accumulate on the metal contacts that the keys hit when they're pressed, and prevent a solid contact. Grab some electronics cleaner from your local hardware store and don't run the keyboard through water. Water can add more residue to the contacts and may short something if you plug the keyboard back in. Take the keyboard apart and spray the circuit board with the electronic cleaner, and wipe the contacts clean with a soft lint-free cloth.
