CounterStrike Source: STUNNING

Post by FlyingPenguin »

Only had time to play a few rounds this morning but it's GORGEOUS. The HL2 engine is stunning.

I love that the environment is alterable. Fuel drums lying around and you can knock them over. Empty once get moved around by weapons fire.

Performance is very smooth. Stress test came up with 69fps on my AMD 3200+ w/Radeon 9800 Pro. Gameplay was smooth as silk in 1024x768 with VSync enabled.

How about that crappy-as-hell netcode that wont register bullets?

they better fix that, I hate this type of bullshit (continues to fire para mag at FP from 2 feet away)

Yeah after playing CS Source and I'm stoked for HL2.Kinda makes up for buying Condition Zero.It runs pretty smooth on my XP1800+,512mb,8500LE rig but there is some stuttering so I turned some things down and all is well.I plan on at least a vid card upgrade before HL2 is out.I really need one now though because D3 runs like ass on my box.

what i like is that its still CS just pretty.

the only things i would like so see changed:

1. no sheild- its pretty lame.
2. no autosnipers- they are lame and used more by cheaters then anything.
3. more guns- in the past they have added a few guns, but nothing that feels right, m4 and ak are still great.

Well it's like regular CS except the graphics are on crack and I can actually hit people. Dunno if that's because the hit boxes aren't as hard as regular CS, or just because unlike regular CS most people aren't cheating...... yet
