PUGS! I got it working PERFECTLY!!
Without your help I would have been fooling with that adjustment to the point of giving up.. I reread your post about the squeeze push point and found the sucker.. kinda hidden in the backside of it!
On gut instinked I moved it back taking up slack rather than making more. Must a got lucky because it now shifts at 12 and 28.. My target is 15 and 30. :) Good enough for now!! ALOT better than 30 and 50!! That was nutz..
And OHH the kickdown now works! :)
Thank you again!

gotta ask though.. Have you slid yours all the way forward just to see? Should work becuase mine was about to the end of its forward limmit (meaning lots of slack) And was getting the shift points that you are after..

well now that you said that im gonna go out and give it a try and see what happens... It might be that it was so far out that the valve was just wide open all the time... i duno too much about how the trans actually works, but i know the basics of what makes it work.

Again if you have any questions about the car let me know, chances are that i have had them too or know what to do to correct them. Let me go out and get pics of what mine looks like..............

whoa!
Thanks for taking the time to take those.. finding those very interesting. I see what you mean about the master and its hoses. I've never seen or heard of that!
And Ya The distributor is different setup for sure.. Anit been that far yet so can't comment..

Why the eletric fan? Did the clutch fan fail or is electric an advantage?

Also I see Ye ditched the cruize cable.. Haven't tested mine But it if it desn't work I'll do the same..

No its works.. i just need the little clip to hold it on there... when i changed carbs i lost it and never replaced it. The electric fan was cause the regular clutch one failed and i figured i have the extra cash why not go electic and gain a few (probbly like 1) HP at high RPM.

Yea my car has the larger brakes as well. I can take tires off of full size pickups and put them right on my car. Thats why i have the hydrolic assist brakes. They take up alot less space... but run on power stearing fluid... so if im turning hard or braking while turning one or the other gets weak. But i can easly lock all 4 of them up if i step on it good.

As you can see i have a carb instead of the fuel injection like you have... also there are some body differances (besides wagon / sedan). You have the one peice head lights. I have the quad. they are allmost alike in most things so like i said if you have any problems i should be able to help you out on it. If there is one thing i know its late model Full size GM's.
