There's actually not much pressure going to the rear brakes and certainly less than your handbrake would apply. Furthermore, as the tires start smoldering, you actually let up on the brakes a bit since the tire grips a lot less than in the beginning of the brake stand.

You will also notice that the truck shifted into third gear, so the tires were spinning at at least 70mph... so there couldn't have been much brake pressure going to the rears.


Also how could you not notice that the parking brake was on? The fact that the engine would have had to also been in a lower gear and as such make more nosie because there's a whole lot more load on it.
Heck my handbrake won't even hold my car up a 30 degree hill, but I'd sure as heck notice it if I tried to drive away with it on. Except on ice!

I did a brake TQ long enough to blow a tire. There was no noticable wear on my rear disk brakes.

And before anyone rants about how stupid that is I agree. I was much younger and had access to all the free tires I wanted so I figured "Why not".

Oh and if you have a freshly waxed car the rubber cleans up easily. Or you can buy stuff that is designed to keep rubber from sticking to you fenders.
