End of year thread: Tally up the dead parts!

Post by sbp »

Please list the PC parts that have died on you or have been killed {accidently of course Image}

Your videocard gets partially fried cause the fan stopped working...you play a game and here comes the video corruption, the hard drive makes dying noises and needs to be stuck in the freezer to pull info off it and you wake up one memorable morn to find the mobo cold...and you weren't even overclocking!

On my spare rig in the garage, I had a 300w power supply that failed. When it died, it also killed my 3½" floppy drive, and my Voodoo3 video card.

Dang you guys are rough on stuff!!

I think I only had 1 Biostar system board die and it was the oldest one I had, about 3-4 yrs old I think.
The Shuttle board death I think was before Jan 1 2004 and would not count for this year, I think.
Other wise as I recall I got anything else that broke on me fixed and working again.

Went as far as getting the RMA # for a NEC 2500 DVD burner, but at the last moment before pulling it out to ship back I did one last thing and it burned the disk correctly again, many disks latter still working :)
Never did figure out what was wrong with it, but hey I fixed it and that's what counts right :D

21" Monitor
3 floppy drives(used for practise modding the LEDs and stuff)
one 300w PSU,
set an old MB set alight when i plugged an electrical cable in the wrong way. )*
2 mice (not broken by me though) sis hit one and it stopped working and mam used polish on a mouse ball when it was sticking!
1 Keyboard

think that was it. setting the comp alight was the funniest though.
