hey nitro there are several good training programs out there from beginners all the way to advanced. the best site on the net for any type of running info. is
http://www.coolrunning.com/ . awesome message boards from long time runners and great training articles.
my wife and i used this book and program for our training
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 45-4206318 . i was a casual runner and my wife never ran and we both used this book and program and both finished the Disney marathon in January. if you have some interest, take a look at this book, very realistic and practical. the biggest problem i had with the training was the time commitment for the runs. with a wife and small child it takes alot of time away from them to train, especially when you get to the long runs and when my wife and i both were training. to be honest, if you can get over the time sink you can do it. that is the only reason i'm not doing another anytime soon. the physical part wasn't the worst to be honest.
maybe DoPeY5007 can share his training experience as well, be interested in hearing. and good luck again. if i'm around the computer Sunday i'll check out how you are doing. marathon running is one of those neat things that you share that bond with others even though you don't know each other. can't wait to hear how you did. and who cares if you don't make it in under 6 hours, just completing it is something not alot of people can say they've done, much less twice!
