What LCD monitor to buy?

Yeah I know, but I had a budget I was trying to hold to (<$500). I like this monitor. Much better than my old CTX 17" that I've had since 1997.

definitely viewsonic vx294 (19") it is the fastest lcd in the market and the picture quality is very good.i have one and i`m really happy with that.

EGO: I went to Dell's site, and they have a link that checks your compatability to run wide screen, and my card was not listed. I was looking at this wide screen model for just under $500:

My Redeon 9600 pro is not listed, but it's listed for notebook pc's. What's the difference?

widescreen isn't a monitor style - its a video display mode, ego, some TV's have widescreen MODE and some Don't have Widescreen MODE - which is 50mm camera by 170% radial display mode and spread across the screen in a funny shape. So some cards have the mode - and some fancier cards Do NOT have the mode.
