1.5 GB of PC3200. I had two 256 MB sticks of Corsair in my system and I bought two 512 MB sticks of OCZ today and installed all 4 sticks. So far I haven't had any issues with all four dimm slot in use or the fact I'm using memory from two different manufacturers.

I just rebooted to double check, and on boot it says "Dual Channel Support Enabled" so I'm not sure what the deal is.. 3x256MB PC3200 in it. It's an Epox 8RDA+.... Very Strange I say!

I've removed the two 256 MB sticks of Corsair ram from my PC. FP was right as usual, the PC was unstable with aall four dimm slots filled. Now, I'm just running 1 GB of OCZ PC-3200 RAM

Ego, not 100% sure but it's possible that mobo is running the one pair in dual channel and the single is on it's own. That still hurts performance though because the dual channel memory will be waiting for the one single channel stick.

You're probably 100% right there FP.. I didn't think of that part of it.. I might pull it later on and see if I notice any gains/losses.. Thanx for the info! :)

1gb stciks are slower CAS usually "3" on the other hand you have the 512 CAS usually "2" . You should go for 4 sticks CAS2 totalling 2gb instead of 2x1GB, I got my last system with 2x1GB and the one I have @ the office feels faster even with 1.5GB (3x512) (same cpu, same mobo) Timing is another problem, most of the 1gb sticks are not only slow CAS but also slow timming so...
More memory is better but it depends how you put the total together,

conclusion: if you get 2GB (4x512) CAS 2 with very low timings and you compare to a machine with 2gb (2x1gb CAS3 slow timing) you will notice a huge difference.

+Now if you find 1gb CAS 2 slow timings ( I know you can get those) prepare your pocket!

Augix, im not disagreing but it depends on the memory you buy and what motherboard for example the board i have at the moment wont work properly with 4 sticks of ram, yet the memory i have runs at fast timings and i have 2x1GB sticks, corsair recently announced that this memory will run at 2-3-3-6 @ 1T havnt tried it yet though.
Athlon 4400 X2, @ 2.5Ghz, 1.375v validation
Corsair 3200C2 2.5-3-3-6 @ 1T Twinx 2GB,
Nvidia 7800GTX 256MB XFX @ 467/1.28,
A8N Sli Premium ASUS,
250GB Maxtor Maxline 3,
Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS.

When I voted, I was only running 512Mb. But thanks to the person that created this thread, Rubber Duckie, I am now running 1Gb

Hey, where's 256mb?
2 out of 4 systems run 256mb DDR, main work box varies from 512mb to 1gig depending if I need to use a spare system I had. And the spare system is either 512mb or 0mg depending if it's being used for awhile or not :)
