For $199 you get a years service and a 2 set of uniden cordless speaker phones.
My brother and myself have been using it for about a month and it has worked fine. Before I was using earthlinks VOIP, but this is a little cheaper and with free phones.
You have to have broadband for it to work. Of course if the net goes out, no phone service either. That's the bad thing. But it's less than half what I'd be paying for the local service. Has free unlimited calls and long distance, free caller ID, 2 numbers, voicemail, you can access from anywhere, etc..
VOIP under $15 a month unlimited calls

Sounds like a good deal. Beats the Time-Warner cable offerings where I'm at.
But...
But...

I have sunrocket at my house and am very happy with the service, it has had some minor issues but for the most part has been great.
I like the features like being able to check messages from anywhere, find me forwarding, and I can also take it with me when I travel and just plug it in to a cable or dsl connection and use it as if I where at home, even recieve calls like I was at home, and the free phones are some nice ones too.

I recently signed up with Vonage, same rate for unlimited calls ($24 per month) but Vonage has a cheaper alternative which I'm presently doing ($15 per month, 500 minutes). Sunrockets cheaper alternative is $10 per month but only 200 minutes).
I've been using Vonage here for over a month, plugs into the wall so all of our many phones still work and no complaints. My SBC bill was previously at $39 per month so I'm happy that I can trim down at least one bill here.
My problem is that my wife can be on the phone for hours sometimes so I might need to switch to unlimited. Last month she went over 500 minutes slightly so the bill was $18, still not too bad.
