I do watch the discovery channel and animal planet a lot hammer but that only makes me hate em that much more from seeing how they look close up. I don't like sneeky ugly critters that bite like that. I've been bitten by a copperhead and ran across rattlers in the desert but they don't bother me at all. At least you can see them first so you have warning. Usually anyway.

What is hedge-balls (Osage Oranges) UC? Sounds like I need a ton of it. I've been stung by yellow jackets and wasps many times and they are no fun either. And yes, the skorpion won. It was apparent from the very beginning when the much larger tarantula steered clear of the skorpion at all costs. Missed the battle though, came home to find the skorpion eating the tarantula. Eventually released him back to the desert.

hehe, it figures Joe, spiderman is by far my all-time favorite comic. I was really looking forward to the movie when James Cameron was going to make it but now my hopes on it aren't real high.

Yeah, once I heard that Spiderman wasn't going to be a Cameron flick, I started having doubts too. No matter though Blade, as he is currently working on T3 which is expected to hit theaters next summer.

Forget the spider and scorpion battle if you really want a battle get two scorpions when I lived in AZ we used to do that all the time. Used to be a lot of fun everybody would catch the little critters bring them and a twelve pack and the games were on. We would bet on them just like a **** fight

osage orange

Post by Underclocked »

they're are weird looking orbs that grow on hedge trees here. About 58,000,000,000 laying around waiting for someone to figure out what to do with them. Free for the taking, but you'll probably get laughed at first. ;)
The only thing I know of that eats them (and not a first choice entree) is squirrel.
They are about the size of a large grapefruit. Look here for pics/info: http://www.ent.iastate.edu/dept/researc ... atnip.html

And here is one for their other name http://hedgeapple.com/ <---THIS IS THE BEST and this guy must be one helluva lot smarter'n me to figure out how to sell the things. Shipping must be terrible as they are quite heavy.

ummm....maybe it wasn't bug spray...maybe it was "Non-Stick" Butter Favored Pam. So when you sprayed him with it, he was just afraid you were going to eat him.

I agree with viperoni. 240lbs, with a size 14 foot is gonna kill any spider. BTW blade, just set them on fire. they run away making this sound that sounds like they're screaming
