Okay, is it REALLY this hard to find the manual unlock on this car? I have to admit I just took the time to look for it on my 2007 Camry and it wasn't obvious either, but trust me I would have found it if I trapped in the car slowly roasting to death.

Well it looks like it's not very obvious on this 2011 Corvette.

Looked pretty obvious to me. Looked like a gas cap release if it weren't for the fact that it has an outline of the car with the driver's door opened. LOL

People have no clue where things are in their car. Honestly. My wife is oblivious to most features on her car. Even I really didn't think about where my manual locks were on my car until I read this article. On the Camry they're moulded into the door in a non-obvious way. I had to trigger the electric lock several times until I noticed it moving.

If the battery dies on my SUV, I just pull the handle & the lock pops up.

Too much electronic crap these days for tasks that shouldn't be.

Always good investment to keep a window smasher/seatbelt cutter tool in the car in case of emergency. I only needed one once to keep one in all my cars.

I'm sorry, but this is beyond not having a clue where things are in their car. It's about idiot designers that try to fix/change shit that doesn't need changing. You shouldn't need to read an owners manual to find out how to lock and unlock your car. This is just absurd and sad that anyone died because of it.

That is a stupid location for a door release. If you're sitting in car with the door shut, you're not going to readily see it. You shouldn't have to read a manual to open the door. There ought to be some indication how to do so that's in a conspicuous location.

Most people can't handle pumping gas or changing a flat tire, let alone figure out how to unlock doors now! Sweet.
