In the case of Apple, I think it's ridiculous to have to pay, probably, a premium for a lightning adapter dongle. With other phones it will all be standard USB-C at least, but I hate having to carry dongles.
I was going to wait for the new Nexus, but I may buy a Moto X Pure and defer the nightmare for another 3 years. Maybe by then we'll just have phones hardwired into our brains
To be honest, I rarely listen to music, books or podcasts on my phone - I have a couple of Touch iPods for that, but i do sometimes watch videos on the phone, and I like hardwired Apple buds as headsets for the phone.
I despise Bluetooth. Not a fan of the quality and its unreliable. I've never owned any kind of Bluetooth device that didn't randomly disconnect. Nor do I want to worry about charging something else.
Sigh...
