Hypocrite? Hardly. It sounds like he ment what he said and if that's the case then he deserved every bit of bashing he received. Frankly I was more polite than I should have been, considering his lame assed slandering, insults and the way he kept pushing it. No frickin' way will he get any apology for me because one isn't needed.

How would you feel if someone mouthed off as he did but directed it towards Canada? Yeah, it's easy to say when you were not on the receiving end of that crap. We respect other countries and for sure Canada but this has nothing at all to do with Canada, just the fact that's where he lives and mentioned that in his bashing. Ours in turn was directed to him, not any country.

RANT You know, i've been all over this world we live on, and I'm getting quite tired of the "Anti-American" thing. Maybe if all those other countries would just shut their mouths and remember which way their bread buttered, or better yet, who actually provided that particular bread and butter..(ie..stabilized economies, pulled their sorry financially strapped assed out of debt, or even dismissed their debts, or provided education visas to those who weren't truely deserving, such as those people who actually paid taxes in the state where they lived) the world would be alot more quiet. It seems that the Chinese forgot who helped to bail out their butts out of post WWII oblivion. Maybe they would have been better off under a life of servitude to Japan. I can go on an on with just about every other country. Despite what everyone thinks, it's not great the americans !! it's damn the americans. Unless of course you got problems that we can/do fix. END RANT

Well I'm sorry I dissed the US earlier. Had I known this thread would explode, I wouldn't have joked around about that.

I'm suprised and ashamed that some of you Canuks are actually serious about cutting the US down like that.

We are constant consumers of US products, and they diversify our nation more, which is what we pride ourselves on. I look around my room, and I see the US everywhere. I'm listening to 80% American music.

Mind you I'd be pretty pissed if american spy planes where (and probably are) flying over my head.

I agree with U Boiz about everything except the beer part. Canada's beer OWNz j00

bitslap, I read in the paper earlier in the year, that the US had in fact been spying on Canada. Apaprently, CSIS discovered the security breach and they made a report on it. Everyone spies on everyone. It's just a way of life I guess.

It's almost a little tradition to jokingly make fun of Americans. The key word here is jokingly(for you AOL users). I don't think coco is indicative of the average Canadian citizen. It's just like the rest of Canada making fun of Toronto.... Actually, they really hate us

Back to the original subject this thing is starting to get out of hand. Both sides seem to be standing their ground and not willing to bend very much. I think China is way out of line the accident happened in internatioal air space and was not an aggresive act so how do they get off holding the people in what they call "protective custody". As I understand it international law says that plane is just like U.S. soil and they have no right to enter it or hold it but they obviously are doing both. I sure don't want a war with China or anybody for that matter but I hope Bush stands his ground and gets our people and plane back

Heheh, did anyone ever see that movie Canadian Bacon. Remember the guy that worked at the Canada desk at the CIA? He was hillarious! His desk was in a closet with 'Canada' written in marker on a torn off piece of cardboard! :lol :

bwaahaha, Canadian Bacon is one of the funniest moveis I have ever seen. I love the part when they are at the hockey game and John Candy says "canadian beer sucks". The entire arena goes quiet and the hockey players stop playing, then they all charge and fight! lol!

Anyone ever watch Due South? Same kind of thing, the entire show is one long joke about americian stereotyping towards canada and it's so funny. What even more amazing is just how huge it used to be in the states, americians loved the show.

Like it or not Canucks ( and I am one)
The great USA is our big brother and I have said this before that I have much respect for the US military and most of your president's except the last fiasco ...and like it or not Canucks and I for one am glad that in case we in Canada were ever invaded or in trouble with a Communist country I truly believe the States would be right there to fight with us by our side. Or more like fight for us cuz they have much more fire power...
If I didn't live here I would choose USA next and then Great BRitain where I was born.
Actually after this winter I wnat to move to Hawaii or Cali...if I could become rich soon or get a good job there...lol not likely.
Anyway Blade I am glad you caught that I was merely joking and trying to be lighthearted about what Poop said ...
I really don't know enough about this spyplane incident but I just heard on the news that the Chinese won't release the American pilots? wtf is up with that?
I don't have time to get into this right now but it sounds like this could get very bad for relations between these 2 countries and world peace in general.

I don't beleive war will come about simply because the Chinese are not stupid people. If they have done their spying right they know our fire power. They know that besides those naval surface ships out there are also one or two nuclear subs lurking about. Besides I also believe that the all mighty dollar will raise it's ugly head. There is still the possibility that China will host the 2008 olympics. Why mess that up?

If that's the case then we'd have to go in and get the plane and repair it first. Plus it is so obvious the chinese pilot was at fault for the collision. China is lying. This is like a sports car messing with a diesel truck. The chinese pilot's have always tried getting real close to try and intimidate our planes and a fighter is far more maneuverable than a lumbering plane like the ep-3e. Why would the americans in this lumbering plane risk a deadly collision and for what purpose? Makes no sense.
