Can you win this thread? It's only beginning!
The game is simple: The "last" person to post wins, where "last" means no one has posted for at least 24 hours after you.
If you try to win by getting the thread locked, you lose. In a locked thread, the person who posted 2nd to last wins instead.
I am out of the game. I can't win and won't post past this first one.
Let's see if these rules make it a little more user friendly than on that "other" board, which you probably all read too.
Clarification 4/13: the same post must remain up for at least 24 hours. If the same person posts again, the clock starts over.
Clarification 5/10 (from the backup board, this one was lost): If you edit a post, the clock starts over again (as the "same post" did not remain up for 24 hours). Not that this matters too much (just don't edit), but the question came up. HOWEVER, you are allowed to edit your post ONCE you have won. Not that you should (you could just put in a new post), but just in case someone does edit their post after they have won, I don't want the game to start over again
Also, I have posted past this first one (mainly for rules clarifications), so I have already broken my own original rules. Not that it matters, I can't win anyway. Just in case the situation comes up, my posts do not reset the clock, so if someone posts before me, and then I post, and no one posts for 24 hours after the person that posted right before me, then they win. (That's confusing, I know. Just remember my posts don't reset the clock, and you are fine).
Yes, if the game ends because the server goes down and you couldn't post, it still counts. Don't ask for an extension.
