Need some help here with a BE-6 2

Sexy pid just got himself a board and we can't get the damn thing to boot up ....well it starts up, but the monitor never kicks in and the comp doesn't go anywhere. There is no picture...but the hard drives engage and stuff....So I dunno...

everything was plugged in properly, I'm almost 100% positive....never dealt with this board before but still...had the manual

So I took everything out and just left in his TNT2 Ultra and RAM, Still the same....Any Ideas??? Shoot em to me please !! anything ya can think of !

Check your VC and MB again, you've missed a step or detail somewhere.

Try removing and reinserting the card the VC.

Also check if your MB is properly installed with no parts of the board touching the case. That happened to me once, me and cjinx fried a new motherboard by short circuiting the board to the metal case.

Hopefully this didnt happed to you

but nope, sorry that ain't those at all. Did the Vid card a couple times...and there's Nothing touching...wish it was that simple though...

and as for beeps...I don't remember any, I think there was only the one beep, the one when you first start it up. pid agrees...no other beeps...

I love it

no problems. I've had it since Win 95
now I have Win Me on it now, wish they offered a bios update to support the newer speeds. As far as I know our boards can go up to a PIII @ 600Mhz w/100Mhz fsb

which puts me in a dilemma

Should I

1) buy a PIII 600Mhz for a $100 or
2) buy a MB/ with AMD 800 Duron for $135
3) buy a MB/ with AMD 1000Mhz 100/133fsb for $160
4) buy a MB/ with AMD 1000MHZ 200/266fsb for $190

Dude our boards can do P!!! 800

that's 100x8
we can OC the 800 up a bit by going 112x8 :up
can't do anything over 112FSB cuz the board can't handle it (damn!)

right now I'm running a P3 450 at 500, can't go any higher because of the limiting 112 FSB

I used to have a celery 400 in it

but I traded it for my current proc, which I noticed was a BIG boost

as for your dilemma...it's your call bud

as far as your problem, have you swapped out video cards to if see the problem is the video card.

what did the online troubleshooting say at the company's website

even more importantly do you still have receipt, you may need it.

Posted this in Cheers - I really think this is the trouble, because I went through it a year ago with my BE-6...

I think what the problem is that you've got the wires to from the case to the board plugged in wrong. You have to try switch the wires until you find the correct connection
on the motherboard.

I remember reading in a newsgroup that ABIT screwed-up the printing in the the manual, so ingore that and just start with a bare system and attach the connecters one at a time until you get it going...

Hey Demrok,
I did some digging and found this on the net
http://www6.tomshardware.com/mainboard/ ... roup_p6bxa which basically says that that there is a pin 'B21' that will allow us to oc celeron 66fsb cpus up to 100mhz fsb which means we can in theory run a celeron 400@672mhz and PIII 450@600

With some experimenting, hopefully I can achieve this.

You might try a different vid card. I had that problem once in an Asus MB. I had the vid card not seated in all the way. I did hear some beeps though. Looked it up and said either vid card was not seated properly or vid card ram was bad.

if it's a used board , reset the bios . New board , then if you hear on boot a long beep with a hit on the end ( beeeeebeep) it V-card or Memory not setted good .
