Odd stuff
Odd stuff
Just today, I was in Windows Explorer on my 1.2 Ghz Athlon and I got a message saying that explorer was not working and that I had to reinstall windows ('98). The weird thing is, I can still get into '98, but it crashes after a while (for example, I went downstairs for an hour, and when I returned, instead of seeing scandisk finish its task the screen was completely pink and green, and it had nothing to do with the monitor). For this reason, I am on Win2000 right now (this is a dual booted computer) but am wondering why Windows 98 screwed up like this and how I might fix it (should I simply reinstall windows?) Thanks a lot for any response.
Is your computer overclocked at all? It sounds like your system files got corrupted somehow. I would just install windows from the autorun screen when you put it in the comp. I dunno if it will mess up your dual boot though

Thanks, guys.
A couple of points:
1. No, this is not overclocked.
2. I'm not sure about upgrading IE; I'm not sure whether it has to do with IE at all, but I suppose it could have been its fault.
3. This morning Windows 98 has been golden: I played a game of Madden, surfed for an hour, and listened to music, and nothing has happened.
I will keep you updated on what happens. Until then,

Gotta be REALLY careful when upgrading OS components and other crap on dual-boot machines. For example, if you upgrade NetMeeting on Win98 to SP2, you have effectively screwed NetMeeting for W2K.
As far as IE is concerned, if you upgrade on one OS, you really need to install the same build on the other OS. Otherwise, you're asking for "anomalies".
