Quitting coffee, day three

Post by glassoftea »

I decided Sunday that drinking coffee while mowing my yard at 3 in the afternoon was just a bit much. So, I decided to go cold turkey and I did Tuesday morning. Man am I hurting! I did not realize how juiced up I was all the time. I still am not completely over it. Getting up at 4 in the morning doesn't help either but I am one tired fool. I feel better about beating the adiction but damn the headaches and general feeling of tiredness were not fun at all, I think I'm just about done with those symptoms. Couple of weeks and I'll go back to her, on a more limited basis I think.

Any other coffee quiters out there?

My parents did, and their health improved greatly when they did too...

I never started myself for health reasons... one choice I still am proud of to this day. Keep it up man, you'll be thankful for it later!

Yesterday marked one month of not smoking. Nicotene gone and I feel much better and can breath easier. And before that I stopped drinking caffeine to :)

In the long run, you're better off :)

You don't realize how much of a drug caffeine is until you try to eliminate it from you diet.

All good points, I was hooked bad, I may go back to a cup a day but not if I can get to the gym before the day starts, a good workout is twice as good as a cup of Java. I quit dipping almost 4 years ago, congrats to all the quitters, we are all better off for it.

I usually drink only 1 cup a day, and the rare occasion I'll have another like a long day at work... but boy do I need it, and I see no reason to quit at this time... :)

Caffine? I need at least 10 strong ones a day just to get threw the work day.. After work I need at least 12 beers and 20 cigs to settle down and think about sleep.
I,m not kidding here... At an average of say 8 beers o day over 25 years I've drank 73,000 beers and smoked 185,500 Cigs.. The cost? I'm not even going to go into that...

My Wife of two years (second Wife) keeps asking me why I'm almays trying to kill myself with my habits.. I just tell her "thats me! and I've aways been that way,You'll never change me.!

She talks of the future and such! She thinks I,m going to die..

I gotta kill smoking Number 1 Cuz she is a keeper.

Did I make any seanse?

God I need to quit dipping, but just can't bring myself to try. I quit smoking cold turkey 10 yrs ago and gave up dipping once before, but restarted during a turnaround at work.

Mac, the patch and sunflower seeds did it for me. That and seeing my oldest girl spit on the ground when she saw me spit. I really did enjoy the nicotine and the habit but it was just too negative to my health and my image in my daughters eyes to keep up.

Koo Koo, you might want to keep an eye out for any new insurance claims placed on you by your wife coupled with a new attitude towards your habits, something like, here honey, I brought you another beer and have allready lit your next cigarrete. Sumtin like that should make a man wonder. :D

I only ingest my caffine through chocolate :D Not much though, heard that stuff stunts your growth. Towering at a whopping 5'1" I'm still hopeing to grow taller ;)

Kaworu, I'm proud of you :) Cutting out the cancer sticks will add years to your life. Just think of the interest you can earn on your share of my $100 inheritence :D

hehehehehehehehhe.......

Good luck with the 'no coffee', I'm strictly an H2O drinker, so can't relate except with having quit smoking a couple times (only to start again a year later the last time and I still haven't reached the 'enough is enough' stage to do it again....but I will do it again...just need to be in the right frame of mind for it...the last time was soooooo easy cuz I wanted it so badly, but life took hold a year later and I started again) :(
Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. :D
