I remember seeing all the heated discussions on this last year as we all pondered the notion of our PCs crashing and world as we know it ending BUT it was rather uneventfull.
So....might things get more interesting this time or will it just be another day like last year? I havent heard or read a thing so far.

I'm gonna be in an airport in Egypt when the new year rolls in. :(

i doubt anything will really happen... But just so everyone knows, 2001 is the REAL start of the new millenium. :)

I did see a funny y2k related bug though. My dad's watch has a built in date display. and this year it shows the dates as a day behind due to leap year this year. Hence it shows today as "Wednesday 7th" ;)

I don't get it.. why would 2001 be the start of the new millenium and not 2000?

Well the reason is this...

When we first started counting years we did not start at 0, we jumped from 1BC to 1AD.

Therefore 1+2000=2001 the REAL millenium. That's why all new films this year from 20th Century Fox are copyrighted for 20th Century Fox.

From January they will be known as 21st Century Fox because this is the new Century.
