Help me out with a price check

Post by Cryo »

I've had these two systems up on a few message boards for a while now but have gotten little responce so it looks like I'm going to sell them on EBay. I have no idea what kind of price range I'm looking at though...

Complete System
Midtower Case
ATX form factor
4 external 5.25”
2 external 3.5”
1 internal 3.5”
300W ATX Power supply
Abit BH6 Slot1 Motherboard (latest bios update)
Celeron 366 with Slotkey adapter, heatsink, and fan
3 x 128MB PC133 SDRAM cas2
Samsung 8.4GB 5400RPM
Seagate 4GB 5400RPM
ATI 3D Rage Pro AGP 4MB
Creative Sound Blaster 16 ISA - On board IDE controller
NE2000 Combo NIC ISA - RJ45 / AUI / Coax jacks
Sony 16x CD-ROM
generic 3.5” Floppy
2 button Microsoft serial mouse with PS/2 adapter
Lite-On Ergonomic keyboard

Barebone Rig
Midtower Case
ATX form factor
4 external 5.25”
2 external 3.5”
1 internal 3.5”
250W ATX Power supply
Abit BH6 Slot1 Motherboard (latest bios update)
Celeron 300a slot1 with built on heatsink and fan
2 x 64MB PC100 SDRAM cas2
Western Digital 1.5GB

I was thinking like 450-550 for the complete system and maybe 200 for the barebone rig, but thats just a shot in the dark. The stupid thing about ebay is that you can't look at auctions that have already ended to see how much the stuff actually went for so I really have no frame of reference. Please let me know how much you think this stuff should go for. Thanks.

On ebay u can search completed auctions. Do a search for what it is your looking for then once it pulls the stuff up there's a link there to search completed auctions. Anyways that complete system i'd say 250-300 and the bare bones about 125-150. Its older hardware people aren't gonna want to pay much for it.

your competition on the complete system is stuff like a emachine celery 600 system / 1 yr warranty at compgeeks for $219 i'd say 200-250 on your system because of the extra ram - lawton had a celery 667 system here recently for ~200 - you have to remember that a lot of prices are through the floor now, esp ram - an old celery 366 is really "granny" class at this point and most people here for instance would do what i just did when the needed an extra box and buy an integrated athlon mobo ($66) and and an older tbird ($40) and add the rest and for $200 have a considerably faster system

probably $125-$150 on the barebones

don't get me wrong, i'm sitting on a lot of older stuff I would love to get $$ for , but the reality of the markleplace is that it's not worth much

You best bet into getting the most out of your systems is to take it to ebay. That is the place to go when you want to sell something or wish to pay more for something used than you can get it new. But don't be heart broken if the complete rig only brings $200 or the barebones brings $100.......prices are just so cheap now it is unreal.
