What digital camera are you using?
hehe, I have a SLAM CAM that I won at the PCA party
*reading from the box* It's for ages 6 and up plus I can spherize, twirl, ghost, ripple, emboss, warp, and crystallize with the software that goes with it
It's rated "E" for everyone and runs on a ... OMG a 9V battery ... I didn't know they still made 9V batteries
But worst of all ... IT'S NOT INCLUDED
Maybe I can win a 9V battery at the next party :jester

I have a Sony DSC-S50.
I like it alot. the setup of the camra is Extreamly easy to navagate and it has Lots of nice features. Granted there are better camaras that have higher resolutions and all that but this one takes some of the best pictures I have seen on a digital camara...along with the movable LCD so U can rotate it and look upside doen and all that good stuff. yea 2.1 mega pixels ant all that high end now adays but it works.
there are to many good camaras to choose from. Just find one that U can use and enjoy.

I had a mask on when I took that pic, maniacal.
You all want to know the biggest secret to taking the best quality pics indoors? Lighting. You can have the best camera and still take poor shots if the lighting is poor. The flash on most digital cameras is very weak so additional lighting is needed for most shots past 7-12 feet or with many people. I use slave flashes which go off as soon as the main flash goes off. It takes practice though and learning how to use additional lighting because otherwise you'll get pics that are way too bright. But if done properly they'll look so much better and professional looking.
Another thing most do is take too much of a background instead of getting what's really intended. Focus on the center of what you wish to shoot and get as close as possible with as little as needless background as possible, kind of frame the pic with the main subject(s) in the center. Of course when you are at places like niagra falls, vegas, etcc then you do want some of the background to show.
